PIN UP Q&A

What is a “Pin Up” you ask?

Wikipedia claims that “Pin-ups are intended for informal display, i.e. meant to be “pinned-up” on a wall. Pin-up models may be glamour models, fashion models, or actors“.

Our take is a little different. We’ll help you find your inner rebel glamour. We’ll keep it classy yet elegant. Think BURLESQUEROCKABILLY and OLD HOLLYWOOD.

We believe that there are few key ingredients that differentiate a typical portrait from a pin up photo. Our formula goes something like,
ATTITUDE + HAIR + MAKEUP + ACCESSORIES = PIN UP

Another response would go somewhat like this,
“What’s a pin up, again?”
“A glance, a tease, peek!”

If you didn’t know, pin up photos used to be called cheesecake photos, so if you do come shoot with us, don’t be offended if we call you “Strawberry Shortcake” or “Cherry Cheesecake Bomb”. Relax. It’s a compliment.

If you want to know more about the history of the Pin Up, here’s an article from the Huffington Post that does the term justice: The History of the Pin Up Girl. One of our favorite illustrative pin up artists is Gil Elvrgren. Look him up.

Come flirt with us and have fun. We can help you show off your fun, your sultry and your uniqueness. Let’s show them the real you.

XOXO,
